PRAZIO MONTAGE GEL

Instructions

The advantages of Prazio Montage-Gel over other mounting fluids is the time it saves in both mounting transparencies and cleaning up after scanning. When applied, the gel stays where it is placed and does not flow all over as thinner fluids do.

When cleaning up, only the portion of the scanner drum where the transparency was mounted requires cleaning.

1. Place tape on all four sides of the transparency (use the Prazio Transparency Prep & Cleaning Mat if you have one).

2. Tape the top of the transparency to the scanner drum.

3. Lift the bottom edge of the transparency and apply a bead of Prazio Montage-Gel along the top taped edge between the drum and the transparency (varying amounts of gel are required for 35mm, 4" x 5", etc.)

4. If using a Mounting Device with a Pressure Roller, position the pressure roller onto the scanner drum and rotate the drum slowly. This will apply even pressure on the transparency, spreading the gel evenly while affixing the transparency to the scanner drum. Should the bead of gel be applied too thick, the excess will be squeezed out at the bottom of the transparency. Simply wipe up this excess with an Prazio Scanner or Ultra Wipe and a little Prazio Film Cleaner and apply an additional strip of tape if required. If a mounting device with pressure rollers is not available, apply even pressure with your hand from the top of the transparency downward, allowing the gel to spread evenly.

5. Should the bead of gel applied be too thin, a void may be created where there is no gel between the transparency and the scanner drum, simply lift the bottom of the transparency and apply a small amount of gel where required and reapply pressure.

6. To clean up, remove the transparency from the scanner drum, discard the tape and wipe the gel from the transparency with a Prazio Scanner or Ultra Wipe. Place the transparency on a Prazio Transparency Prep & Cleaning Mat if available, its unique composition will hold the transparency in place while cleaning. Apply a generous amount of film cleaner to a new Prazio Scanner or Ultra Wipe and remove the remaining residue from the transparency by wiping in one direction only. Do not wipe back and forth!

Using Prazio Drum Cleaner and a Prazio Scanner or Ultra Wipe, clean the area of the scanner drum where the transparency was mounted. A final cleaning may be done by applying Prazio Anti-Static Spray to a clean Prazio Wipe and wiping the drum.
